Marshall 20w handwired review....

...Got one the new "baby" handwired Marshall's in....(bad tube, probably occured during shipping....)

Installed new JJ 12ax7 and fired her up!

I had heard the demo's from NAMM and liked the way it sounded, but it was "borderline" disappointing for me....not particualrly "inspiring", but not bad either....had "life" but not quite like the Super Leads....(of course, I'm not a huge fan of EL84's anyway!...). I'm thinking this is one of those amps that requires a sustantial amount of "experimenting with" to find killer tones...(as with all things worth having!!!)


I'll try it again tomorrow with V30's...not giving up on it yet!

Anyone else tried one of these yet?

im assuming its a head? ive played a few 18w combo clones and they were all KILLER!! most had either a g12m or g12h. the blockhead was especially nice, but not alot of headroom

Hey Jeff...have you seen the guys that are converting Fender Blues Jr's to 2 channel 18 watt Marshall clones? Think that's something that you might want to try?
