this is pretty much the same as the 1936V in terms of dimensions, materials and speakers right? i mean, apart from the cosmetics.

the marshall site calls the speakers 'G12T vintage' mistakenly i think.

i love it! but then again i already have a 4x12 with the vintage speakers so i was thinking about a sour mash or something 2x12" 1936 copy with 75W creambacks. i heard the construction quality for marshall has changed, such as using a particle board back if i heard correctly.

here the 2536 and 1936V sound totally different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFPTEzxgTWY

Marshall's used particle board backs since the early 1970s; my 1982B cab from 1978 has a particle board back. The bigger issue is that some of their cabs are made ENTIRELY of particle board. I'm not sure which ones because I'm not interested in new production Marshall cabs, but they've done so since at least the early 1990s. My bro used to own an early 90s Valvestate 8412 that was full particle board construction.

got this reply from another forum regarding the particle board..
When first introduced with the JCM800 series, the 1936 was all ply with an MDF back panel. From the early 90's to around 2012 they were then constructed with 100% MDF. Around 2012-2013 1936 cab construction transitioned to being made of 100% birch ply including back panel which has been in effect for a few years now.
