Re: Marshall 6100 30th anniversary
In my opinion the 30th Ann Marshalls with EL-34's are the one's to get, and I don't believe you can rebias those for another tube, due to their highly technical design and transformers made specifically for that tube. Otherwise, everyone who bought the 5881 version would have changed it. Honestly, all those amps sound pretty damn good, but I've noticed that many of them break down on occasion.....maybe due to bad bias, or something. They will be collectors items, however, especially if you're lucky enough to find a blue one....even better if you can score a blue cab.
They also made the limited one's, which had brass plated chassis and brass logo.
Those go for around $1700 on the used market. The normal blue ones go for $1200, and the black ones go for $850.
