In that demo 51501984 posted, the head somehow sounds tighter, even though they both use the same speaker. Must be the closed back on the cab.

Good on them for the low power mode on the combo, as that thing got truly bedroom practice levels when he switched it over.

I'm so glad Marshall was listening to the wants of consumers! I've been hoping something like this would happen.

This is ideal for someone with nice cabs to compliment it. And let's not forget about OD pedals. If you've got some nice OD pedals, this will be a perfect opportunity to run a halfstack at moderate volume. I sure hope they supply it with a 4/8/16 ohms selector!!!

During the short period I had my original Class 5 I talked with its developer (on the Marshall forums) and he said that there was no concern about running its 16ohm output into the 8 ohm Bogner 2X12 I had at the time. But yeah... selectable impedence would be better! And I LOVE the way this little head looks. I hadn't planned on buying any new amps for a long while, but I may find myself with a Class 5 head if I stumble on one when I have cash-in-hand.
