as i cant decided which one to get.
what is the clean and dist sound between them.
which one sound better with the master vol at a lower setting.
which one has a better dist sound

What about the JVM series ?

Have just found out that both the DSL 401 and the TSL601 had been around for along time and almost going to be discontiune.

Should i get the DSL or the TSL or the JVM

Re: MARSHALL DSL 40 vs TSL 60 or the JVM 50 watt combo

I haven't tried the DSL40, but I think its loaded with EL84's (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and I've heard EL84's might not sound the same as EL34's...

I've got the TSL602 and I think it nails the Marshall sound. Its got 3 channels, I beleive all the others only have 2. The 3 channel TSL602 is prefect for me, I have one channel clean, the crunch channel set for classic rock, and the lead channel for high gain modern stuff. Both gain channels sound great IMO.

The volume is spot on for me. I play pretty loud, mostly at home. The volume is usually at 1:00 or 2:00 which is plenty loud, especially for indoors, but not ridiculously loud and unbearable. Its also plenty loud enuff to get the tubes hot, but not too loud where cops are knocking at my door.

I haven't tried the JVM, but I've read good things about it. If I were you, I'd try out the JVM in a store if possible first.
