Marshall DSL vs. Carvin Legacy, how do they compare?

I've been having a falling-out with my Marshall DSL 50 lately. I've had it for 2 years and this is the longest I've gone disliking it. I'm thinking it might be time for a change and I was wondering how the Carvin Legacy stacks up to the Marshall DSL? I had been looking at Legacies for quite some time now and I have liked alot of the clips I have heard. I have also heard that Legacies love Greenback speakers which are what I have and I really want to keep those.

They sound completely very different. The marshalls tend to have a bright brittle type of distortion. The legacy is fat and warm and and has a more fluid type of distortion. You will not get the chunk and chug from the legacy that you do with the marshall. However, Vai's tone IS in this amp if that's what you're going for. I'm not, but it's really easy to nail them. Listen to K'm Pee Du Wee and that's basically what a guitar with ceramic buckers plugged straight into the legacy sounds like. Sounds just like mine. Die to Live is another good example of what the amp sounds like too. Metal guys don't like the amp because to them the low end mushes or farts out. It's not a dual rec. It won't be tight in the low end and buzzy on top.
