Anyone have one of these or played one? I just ordered a Sweetwater exclusive model today. I'm hoping it all that and a bag of snacks.

Re: Marshall DSL40C

Ever ordered from Sweetwater before? They'll literally give you a bag of snacks with the amp lol.

As far as the amp, no never played through one. I'd love to get one but since I don't play out it's too much amp for my needs.

Re: Marshall DSL40C

I think its a good deal. I played a dsl15 at GC and it was pretty decent.

That said, 40watts and a Creamback should sound pretty righteous.

Re: Marshall DSL40C

i have a vintage amp tone snob friend with 3 plexis who loves his DSL15

you'll probably like yours

Re: Marshall DSL40C

it's a good amp.
When I bought my OR15 I was about to buy the DSL40C. I had been playing it and was sold on it.
But I thought, hey do they have that OR15 I had been wanting to try? They did have and it won because it's just got a grind that I found to be unique while still getting marshally

But the DSL is sweet. A Creamback fixes the one problem that the normal one has: a crappy speaker. I love the green channel.
Well also I don't like the way the DSL works as a channel switcher. I found it hard to balance the bass between both channels. But if you treat it as two non-switchable amps in one it is very very nice.

Re: Marshall DSL40C

I keep thinking about the DSL15 head. But then, that Orange Micro Terror...

I have the amp. Pros: very nice selection of tones. And for a guy into blues, classic and hard rock (dio, sabbath, priest, evh), the green channel is incredibly good. Great crunch and thorough response throughout. The red channel I use very sparingly. It has lots of gain on tap, think Slayer or one of those styles. Watch out, you have to careful to balance the volume and gain or it will be fizzy (this is true of any high gain circuit). Cons: very heavy and awkward to move, because it has no side handles. Also the green and red channels share an eq, which can make going between the two a pain in a live situation. You really have to work to dial in a balance. I use a wampler distortion pedal on the green channel if I need more dirt.

I've got one - love it!

Mine is completely stock with the normal 70/80 speaker.

I mostly stick with the Green Crunch and use it as a single channel amp with the guitar's volume knobs. When channel switching to Red, you just have have some volume and it's all good.

Re: Marshall DSL40C

I've never played one, but last weekend I went to see a friend play at a club. The guitar player had one and I was drooling over the tone he got with it. I almost went out to buy one the next day.

Re: Marshall DSL40C

I've had the amp for about a week now, yes it is great. Haven't used it with a band yet, but if will soon enough.
