Marshall echohead and other misc delays

ive been trying delay units lately... and came across the marshall echohead

i tried it, liked most of the effects, but ive read over the net it has very low battery life, and maybe the ocassional problem here or there

did any of you try it?
i was between that one and the ibanez de7 (which i know is a good pedal)
but i think the marshall has a lot more variety (if just it could have a 100% wet option on the reverse delay... meaning you only hear the delay and not the dry signal, is there any delay that can do that?)

any suggestions on delays are welcome, even if recommending another brand/pedal

thanks!

Re: Marshall echohead and other misc delays

LIne 6 Echopark can do a 100% wet. It has Reverse Delay as well.

Re: Marshall echohead and other misc delays

Its an alright pedal but would be very low on my list as to something I'd want on my board. For what its worth as well, powering any digital pedal via battery power is an exercise in futility, they simply draw way too much power, will drive you crazy and broke as 9v's aren't cheap

Boss DD-20 GigaDelay
Boss RE-20 Space Echo
Boss DM-2 analog delay
Line 6 Echo Park
Ibanez DE-7
Retro Sonic Analog Delay
Analogman modded DD3
Maxon AD99
Real Space Echo
DOD FX96 Analog Delay
EHX Deluxe Memory Man

etc etc I would all prefer over the Echohead, either real analog or tape, or a very good modeling like the RE-20 Space Echo. Everything else is just so lifeless and steril

do you realize that most of those cost at least double the price of the echohead?
xcept maybe the ibanez, wich is very good! but not as versatile
liked the space echo thou...

any recomendations on the same or nearby priceline?

update: watched some demos for the line6 echo park... sounded very sterile for me, dont like the plastic casing either.

update2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BOzomocUk0&NR=1

im SERIOUSLY considering saving for that. i mean, WOW (stereo memory man with hazarai)

The Echo Park is in a very solid metal casing actually. Its over 2lbs and most people complain about why its got to be so thick and heavy to the point of overkill

The Stereo Memory Man isn't bad if you dig the features, but being a digital pedal, I just didn't really like the sound, at least compared to the classic sounds of the Deluxe Memory Man with its BBD chips. Certainly give up some features and pay more for it though, but its a fair tradeoff for excellent sound to me.

Choices are always a good thing though
