Marshall JCM 2000 vs Orange Rocker 30?

I want to get a relatively cheap but good tube amp and have narrowed it down to these two. I mostly play classic and retro metal (black sabbath, iron maiden, the sword, dio, etc). I only use a boss ds1 pedal, and have a limited budget for cabs. Which would be better for my needs?

Get the marshall. Some people done jibe with Oranges. Everybody likes marshalls. EVERYBODY

I didn't bond with the Orange and I really wanted too. I however used to gig with a JCM 900slx with EL34s and that was the tone. I'm partial to that Marshall sound though. Play the Orange first before you drop the money.
They have some weird overtones in the gain. You either like it or you don't and I didn't.

Consider using Vintage 30's with the Marshall. Maybe the Orange, too.

The clean channel on DSL 401, 50 and 100 is pretty versatile and takes pedals super well. THe cleans on a Rockerverb sound like the obvious clean tone from a high gain amp that only does one thing.

Rockerverb and Rocker30 are two completely different amps. The R30 clean channel is fantastic..

OP- Im a Marshall guy at heart and own a VSL, but I'd rather have the Rocker30-f they still made them I would have bought one instead of goingback to Marshall after my OR15.

Get the Marshall, my first half-stack was a JCM2000 and it was great for all the rock tones I needed to cover from classic to modern!

i picked up a dsl50 about 3 months back, and wish i would have bought one decades ago. it would've saved me a lot of other amp purchases.
