Marshall jtm 60

Hey guys, does anyone know about the Marshall jtm 60 combo or the head with 4x10 cab? The series came out maybe 10 or 12 years ago and didn't last that long. I see them on ebay every now and then for pretty cheap saying that they sound like a plexi, is this true. I currently own a Boogie and I'm thinking about going over to a Marshall. Help me out on the sound quality if you know of this amp.

Cant say for sure because I haven't owned one but I remember hearing about reliablilty issues with these and the 30s. Something about overheating because of the tube layout. Again, I'm not positive.

Re: Marshall jtm 60

I had one.
It would last maybe 6 months at a time and then break down cause of the heating issues.

I would hold my breath while playing the thing.

Stay clear is my two cents.

i rarely gig and mine just stays home... i usually play it 1-2 hours in one sitting... NO issues in more than 3 years... i love the cleans... great drive channel for classic rock and hard rock (ala GnR). i got the 1x15 heritage speaker by the way. rock on!

Re: Marshall jtm 60

I've never played or heard one, but the word is that their chassis were so compact that they overheat frequently and breakdown. Tubes just don't work in a tiny little chassis.
