Marshall JTM145

Re: Marshall JTM145

Nice Whitesnake video, Jeff! I dug deeper for more vintage Whitesnake through that link. Coverdale in his prime put out some great late 70's rock in the height of the Disco craze.

The original British Whitesnake, with Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden, were a classic UK band, and it's the only lineup that I consider to be Whitesnake. After that lineup, it just kinda became some glossy '80s band with Coverdale and a bunch of hired guns that really should have adopted a new identity.

Isn't Bernie just wonderful in that first clip posted by JeffB ?... such a down-to-earth guy, no rockstar pretences whatsoever. I have no idea what happened to Micky Moody, so i searched and found this ...

Go Bernie ! Go Micky !

Grab yourself a copy of "live in the heart of the city" if ya can Joe. Wore that vinyl out BITD. Great live album!

Re: Marshall JTM145

Yeah after Micky and Bernie it was Mel Galley. Good working guitarist, but no chemistry. He did most of the guitar work on Slide it In. Sykes came in at the end and did a couple solos, and vocals..and most of us know the rest of the story, and pick a side of the fence to be on. At some.point every one of my fave artists or players has diverged in some way where I could not connect with their material anymore. Thats life, I suppose.

Re: Marshall JTM145

Usually I don't care for new Marshalls but this thing kicks ar$e. I prefer the tone of JTM/Plexi amps, with their growl and lower mid emphasis.

Does the neck pup of that LP sound f***ing amazing or what? Esp. when JB is playing licks on the B and G strings.

Re: Marshall JTM145

Joe can make anythign sound phenomenal and make me want to buy it!! Great little amp, but in my condition Ill have to start with the guitar-picks he uses :headbang:
