Hi everyboy!
Finally I can buy my Stratocaster, but... I have a little question:
I have got a Marshall Amp Combo: mg 250 dfx... Now, I've some money save...
What do you think if I sell my MG and I buy a new Avt275x???
Thank's to all for the answers!

Re: Marshall MG 250 DFX or AVT275X???

Get the AVT. I owned an mg series, the mg50 and an avt275 both for about 3 yrs. The mg is really only good at the scooped mids poopy metal tone. The avts sound a lot thicker and more marshall like. The cleans on the avt are actually pretty good as are the low to mid gain tones. When you start pushing the gain higher tho, it gets pretty muddy and unarticulate sounding. I bet if you had a good distortion pedal or od, you could boost the od1 channel and get some pretty sweet tone, but I never tried. The od2 channel is just a higher gain version of od1 and consequently doesn't sound as good. The acoustic sim is pretty much useless, it sounds like a really weak version of the clean channel. The fx section is pretty decent, especially the reverbs.

the avt's are a bit nicer. i owned the mg100dfx for a few years, it was great for hard rock-metal tones, really powerful. didn't really have that marshall vibe like the avt's get, which i s why i sold it. How much are you willing to spend and what do you play?

you cuold probably get at least 350+ for that amp im sure. i sold my mg100 on ebay for about $300, and it wasn't in teh best shape :/ haha

have you considered any tube amps at all? you may want to take a biggere step away from the solid state side of things if you want to get into different tonal territory
