Marshall Mode Four

Re: Marshall Mode Four

wierd, i thoght the Mode Four was pretty awesome for the money... having tried on in anger, i miust say i was mighty impressed. i was ready to give it a good bashin for being SS, but it really was pretty special. Extremely versatile too. ive got only praise for it.

Re: Marshall Mode Four

I agree with Young Angus...

and to Kyuss rocks post

I'd disagree with you, it;s your opinion but even comparing to the Cheaper All Tube DSL IMO theres no competition..although the DSL wouldn't be as versatile (2 channels, but still technically 4 modes) IMO its in the catagory of the "gear with lots of ok tones or gear with a few killer tones"... But addmitadly the cleans on the Mode four were very good...

Re: Marshall Mode Four

I tried the Marshall TSL-602. Amazing distortion! And the cleans are snappy. You must try the TSLs.

Hey im saving up some cash and look at buying a Mode Four, its priced around 2800$ so i got time to look for another, but i was wondering if anybody knows a really good amp, or has tried out the Mode Four I tryed it myself but i didnt have the time to actully play with it.... so if you have any advice on that amp, or a better amp can you post it here, Thanks

13 years old and looking at a $2800 amp, Either mommy and daddy are rather generous or your a movie star lol. I liked the Modefour when I tested it, It had some insane crunch. The modefour cleans were actually better than usual, In that price Range I would still prefer to do alot of shopping around, Besides, the modefour just came out so the price will be inflated for a couple months.

Actually the Mode Four i believe is out at least a year now (if not more)(or less) and if anything the price of the mode four will increase, along with everything else in this world because of inflation..

And to Metalblaze..

I could nearly guarentee you that if you try the DSL you will much prefer it to the TSL...

haha man i wish my mom and dad were paying for it... but they arnt so i gotta sell sum stuff and get a job... thats why im looking for a amp now, so i can decide among diffent amps not just find one ooh i like it and find on better for half the price,, man i dont kno theres so many good amps, ill prolly buy a mesa boogie though, can you guys gimme a few more amps i shud look into? or would you say i got all i need to choose from in this thread heh?

Re: Marshall Mode Four

If you ask me, and remember I'm only about 2-3 years older than you, you've got a LOT of options. But how long have you been playing guitar for? Cuz if you are paying for the amp yourself, by the time you get the money its probably likely that your ear might change a little.

That an excellent point!!

The chances are you're tastes will probobly change, mabye not much or mabye a lot but i'd definitly wait another year anyway before i went out and bought it..

Also where are you living that a Mode Four Costs So much??

Re: Marshall Mode Four

for that amount of mney you could even start a (if you wnat to) rack system. like a mesa boogie v twin rackmount, and one of their power amps. i think it wqould end up being less than the amount of money your looking for?

Re: Marshall Mode Four

Id go for a dsl 50 or if your inclined 100. either wya u cant go wrong, even a tsl would be abetter choice than a mode four. SS amps dont comprae well to Tube amps. Even if it a goodf amp for it being SS youll be happier with a tube amp. Try a mesa boogie rectofier that might be what your looking for.

Theres a v twin rackmount?!?

yeah.... well, there used to be!
mesa replaced it with the v twin preamp pedal, before that came out there was the rackmountable version.

You can get a triple rectifier for a lot less than the MF
Well if this guy's living somewhere that mode fours are $2800 then i don't even want to imagine what prices are for Mesa's
