Anyone have any experience with these? Like the bluesbraker and jackhammer ect. Theres a bunch more, but I dont remeber what they're called.

Re: marshall pedals

I have used the Jackhammer and it is good for the money has a lot of tones...the only downside I had, was that they can be a tad difficult to dial in.

I use a Crunch Box for Marshall tones and I haven't been happier with a marshall sounding stomp box.

Re: marshall pedals

I have a Supervibe chorus, and a mate uses their compressor, bluesbreaker, guvnor and jackhammer pedals. I love mine and am thinking of getting an Echohead delay.

Re: marshall pedals

I had a Guvnor 2. It was poor. It sounded like a a Boss DS-1 but much worse and unclear and stuff.

Re: marshall pedals

I have the old VibraTrem pedal. The vibrato effect is awesome, for a subtle modulation, and the tremolo setting is really precise. But I am still thinking of getting an EHx Pulsar.

Re: marshall pedals

I have an old Bluesbreaker that I use in front of my MArshall 900. It works really well with that amp. I have used it with my DR and my SR also with good results. I like it best in front of the MArshall. With the Fenders I like a TS9

Re: marshall pedals

I have the old ones - shredmaster and guv'nor.

of the new ones, i only have the jackhammer - very tweakable (but yeah, hard to dial-in)... you will forget about stuff like boss's metalzone if you have the jackhammer.

all three are pretty good, but im especially raving about the shredmaster. the guv'nor has very similar characterists with my old guyatone flip-series powerdrive, but only much more versatile... makes me think that this pedal actually comes closest to simulating a tube amp.

Re: marshall pedals

i have the echohead. great sounds and types of delay varied. however, one gripe. the time dial is over-sensitive and it's difficult getting the correct timing of delay.

Re: marshall pedals

I have the ED1 Compressor, Gov'2 Plus, Jackhammer and the Reflector will arrive tomorrow. These pedals take a bit of a touch to dial in but do what they are marketed to do very well to me. I have used far more expensive pedals, custom pedals and have spent a fair bit of time caught by the flavor of the day over the years when these will do the the job just as nicely in many cases. Are they everyone's flavor. Nope. Just as the flavor of the day is not something I generally find spectacular.

The ED1 works great for a compressor for me. The Gov'2 plus does the Plexi to midgain Marshall pretty well (the rattier edge stuff) like ABB, older Clapton, and Stones to AC/DC, ZZ, etc. It can do a more modern rock tone as well, it is just not thing. I use the Jackhammer for some leads (even a bit of Santana-like stuff when you mess with the high knob - not treble). So I expect that the Reflector will work well also.

None of them sound like my stock DS1 or Keeley type modded DS1. The DS1 has less character, less of the Mountain vibe that the Gov or Jack have to me.

It also depends on the amp. Some pedals work well with some amps, and or speakers. Some dislike some guitars or pickups. So it really depends on your ears and what you are looking for out of them. There are a lot of over priced pedals that do a lot worse than the Marshall pedals, and Boss stuff. New and more money does not equate to tone. This really is a you have to decide thing.
