this is about as good as i can get it.
considering lead1 on a dsl is NOT supposed to sound like a mesa rectifier i think i did a pretty good job.

I love your clips man, the tone quest you are on is delivering.
Sounds huge!
As a matter of fact this clip inspires me to get an A8 instead of the UOA5 thats in my Custom now...

One complaint: make those clips a little longer! Tone is fine, now try and get a whole song up.

i hear ya man. i just figured out today that less mids in a mix is soo much better.
i had to scoop the hell out of this in fine detail to give the mix bigger.
so yes, now that i dont have to tinker with tone as much im totally think bigger and better riffs, and complete songs.
its tough cause when a person like myself gets used to making clips and posting it, i break my own creative juices in the process. i get bored with one sound easier now.
it must be
MADD (MUSICAL attention deficit disorder) =D

Re: Marshall Rectifier Rev. 3

im pretty much done posting little clips, its time to make a song with this exact particular tone for rhythm.
if i mess around and just starting more tone searching im going to slap myself in the face.

=D

Re: Marshall Rectifier Rev. 3

Yeah man, this is good tone, no need to tinker with it. I´d love to hear it in a full mixed song. Thats a whole ´nother challenge to face ;).

it sure is a whole nother challenge. i got start thinking of riffs to fill a entire song :smack:

Re: Marshall Rectifier Rev. 3

I'd love to hear something like that with a fat, middy lead tone over it...

Really impressive dude!

Re: Marshall Rectifier Rev. 3

Wow dude, that's brutal. Is that an actual mic'd DSL or is it all digital?

that is my real in flesh DSL100 head
i dont care for digital anything. even digital eqs are only as good as the resolution your working at.
otherwise it aint got nothing on analog equipment.

Re: Marshall Rectifier Rev. 3

Wow. You'd never know that tone was coming from a Marshall judging by the sound sample itself. Impressive IMO :)

Re: Marshall Rectifier Rev. 3

I guess I am late to post, but, out of curiosity, does the custom 8 stay tight, and not get muddy?

it for sure stays tight, but if you over do the bass it will seem resonanty in the lows and that is really the only thing that ever gets it muddy. mids have an aggressive edge to them which helps. its more saturated than the regular customs and i think that attributes it staying tight and clear :naughty:
