After buying '69 JMP head and an early '65 Marshall cabinet dirty cheap i decided to restore those things a bit.Anyone here was doing some minor restorations?And what's the best place to buy some things for it (castors,tolex,grille cloth,logos...)?I know that there are some people in US that could restore it,but i'm far from US.

Just so you know if you have a real '69 head and a areal '65 cab they mighht be worth more left alone...even if they are kinda beat up.

I don't know where you live, but if you want to fix up the insides, look up Jeff Seal at The Speaker Surgeon. This is one of his major areas of expertise. He is a forum member here. Houston resident.
But as mentioned above, once you take off the stuff on the outside, IMHO, you just lost any value to a collector one day. There are some that say the insides shouldn't be touched, but I agree with Gerald Weber on this one: if you had a 69 Chevy, wouldn't you want to tune it up and give it a new set of tires, belts, etc?

Amen Scott....And I'd much prefer a great sounding amp with upgraded or updated components...I wouldn't change any cosmetics,but I sure would want the amp to play as good as possible..I also wouldn't want any reliability issues..

Thats right...if you are gonna play it, give it what it needs to be 100% up to par...caps, tubes, any needed repaires, etc...but if you werew to replace the toles, handles, grill cloth, etc you will be shooting the value in the foot.

Yeah,we're talking about real beat up one here.The inside is just fine,i never had any problems with tubes,pots or whatsoever.Cab's tolex is 50% gone and i don't want it's wood to rot.So there's no way of restoring it without losing some collector value?And these heads came with a gold logo,right?I might post some pics...

you dont want to see that amp and cab guys, believe me.. this is the kind of restoration you do to a beat up mustang chasis you found in somebody's backyard..
and no, jeff seal and any stateside guys are out of the question here.. he lives 'near' me
visual parts stores would be in order here... logos, tolex, some info on howto do it etc

What would Full Shred do other than shred??
I can still catch some stuff off eBay,right?Better looking handle,original castors....etc.
In the final solution I could send it to someone in US but that would be really risky.Is there ANY chance of getting it into top shape?By top shape i mean tonewise and lookwise,without losing any value to it.
