First up. Captain Crunch. Roadworn 50s Fender Tele. It has some scratches and dings
This is a first year model I picked up new in summer 2010 from Sweetwater, and the relic'ing looks alot better than most I have seen. In addition after a couple years, the fretboard 'wear' looks much better than a new one as it has become darker stained from playing. My sweetwater rep had his guitar tech play all they had in stock at the time, call me back, and he picked this one as his fave for looks and play. It was until recently my #1 guitar. I have modified it with an Electrosocket jack. I have rounded the fretboard edges so super easy back and forth on the neck. I have installed a pair of handwound custom pickups from Rumpelstiltskin. They are a pair of his 1950s Black Ropes (Broadcaster type). Bridge is appx 10K with 43g wire and A3 oversize rod magnets. BIG BEEFYASS tele bridge pickup, but warm, and pleasantly crunchy mids when you jack up the gain. The neck is also 43g wire, with A3 magnets at appx 7K and a brushed nickel cover. More clarity than a vintage brass cover...somewhere between a big strat neck and a P90 for tone. Both pickups are minimally waxed to keep the tone pure. The clarity, detail, overtones and complexity of these pickups is amazing. If the guy made humbuckers, I would have them in my 335. It has the original steel saddles as you see and I have a set of brass compensated as well (as you can see) for it. Ash body. This has the vintage radius with 6105 tall frets. It has some fret wear around the cowboy chord positions but plenty of life. IDK exact weight but I would say between 8 and 9 lbs. I will miss this old SOB....
