It sure is. I'd go for a neck and middle SSL-1 myself. if you wanted something that's still sort of vintage sounding but a little warmer, thicker and chunkier maybe a APS-1 or APS-2.
Personally, I'd want classic glassy/chimey Strat tone from the neck and middle...so SSL-1's would be my choice.

I was thinking ssl-1 to but, I emailed SD & they said that the ssl-1 just would not be loud or punchy enough compared to the ssl-5 in the bridge. The ssl-5's are some hot pickups with a lot of punch. I was wondering if SD would custom make a pickup to match it.

SSLs would be fine
the 1 and 2 positions won't be necessarily vintage, but that's not such a bad thing, as vintage strats were weak in the bridge
I use an SSL 3 in the bridge of a couple strats with APSs, and I like it
there are others here who have also used an SSL5 or 6 in the bridge with SSLs or APSs

My buddy AJ uses SSL-1's with a Fralin Steel Pole 43 bridge pickup! That pickup has the alot of the tone and high output of a Gibson P-90. The SSL-1's sound wonderful in that guitar.
They'd sound wonderful with an SSL-5 bridge pickup too. It's not that hot....
The SSL-1's even sound great with a full size bridge humbucker like the 59B or 59TB.
