Matching output of pickups

Hi All.

Is there any of knowing how much output a pickup has before I purchase it? Dimarzio have an output rating on their website for each pickup, does SD home smoethintg similar I can look up?

Also, regarding output level, I have the Dimarzio Twang King tele set. I think their output rating is "80" (neck) and "125" (bridge). The two pickups have different output ratings but both provide the same volume when I play.

I understand I can adjust the pickup height and volume control to match level, but I would like to purchase pickups that are similar in output. Is there a practical way I can acheive this without having to buy 2 of the same pickups for the one guitar?

Re: Matching output of pickups

Seymour Duncan uses resistance (in k - like the Distortion is 16k, Custom is 14k, etc.) to show output. That means that usually, the higher the number, the hotter the pickup.

Very helpful, thankyou. Is the this basic guide I should use to match different pickups or is there other factors to consider?
