Matchless Question: Chieftan 2 x 10

I admit, I've never been a fan of 10's, because I like big bass that never breaks up. As a matter of fact, the very last amp with 10's is leaving me in about a half an hour. Bye Bye Fender Bassman LTD.

Lew, I'll tell you what the most awesome new amp company is.....www.65amps.com Curly and I agreed it was the best amp at the LA Amp Show, and yesterday I went to a Vacuum Tube show in Pasadena, and I played the head/2-12 cab for an hour. It's the best EL-84 amp there is.

My fav amp in my collection is a Matchless Lightnin 15 2X12.

Coolest amp around in my opinion....and i am one picky bastard when it comes to amplifiers.

The Chieftain has a very pronounced "V" type of eq.
Is that what you're looking for?
I thought the Lightning was a much cooler, though simpler sound.

If you want to hear a Lightning, just listen to Stevo's Franklin clips on Tips and Clips. I tweaked a couple of things to make it more to my liking, but they are pretty similar. in fact, I'm using the same transformers. Not just the same style, but the same manufacturer.
