(Maybe for TGWIF) You dirty RAT?

...so listening to the samples on proco's site, I kinda like the tone of these... not sure if I like it over a normal one though.

Anyone tried one?

You could always get a regular Rat and put in a 3-way switch for diodes and have all 3. The regular uses 1N914 silicon, the Turbo uses LEDs (yellow or red, not sure, but my BYOC came with yellow) and the Dirty uses germanium diodes.

Re: (Maybe for TGWIF) You dirty RAT?

Sorry bro...I know about the old school Rat pedals, the reissues they call VIntage Rat and the Turbo Rats...no You Dirty Rat and No Brat, and for sure no Roadkill...

Re: (Maybe for TGWIF) You dirty RAT?

my sister has the turbo rat and she doesn't like it at all. maybe it just doesn't fit what she does but she can't make it sound good for her. iit's just a strange sounding pedal. she had one of the rat 2's and it sounded amazing but the turbo just isn't doing it

Re: (Maybe for TGWIF) You dirty RAT?

I like the tone of You Dirty Rat as an alternative light fuzz - not as OD or dist !

I am thinking of getting one to ad to my collection of fuzz units !

Re: (Maybe for TGWIF) You dirty RAT?

...the sample for the turbo sounds a lot like an overdrive with the tone control set way too low... not quite what I'm going for. But kind of a cool tone I guess in its own context...

The dirty rat seems to have a nice open tone to it... wish I could find more of these around to try out. Might just stick with the tried and true rat though ;) sounds unique enough as it is...

The Dirty Rat is the latest Rat, it uses germanium diodes. The Brat is cheap and now where near the same league as the Rats. The Roadkill was basically a Brat for GC, IIRC.

Rats definitely have a unique tone, I have a clone on my pedal board, I like it, but it doesn't work for everything.

If you already have a Rat, it would be easy to add a toggle and a couple of diodes to go between regular and Dirty Rat modes.
