Re: maybe gonna build a "tele gib"...

Googled around and found this:

Very confusing...is the concept set the real deal Tele-Gib set or is the JB/Jazz or is the olden days JB/Jazz set???and where do you order 35,000 year old mastodon ivory for the thing???didn't know Jeff Beck was so picky...gonna ditch the Tele-Gib build out of a state of confusion and just put a set of Seth Lovers in it instead...

I saw a TV show where they showed a bunch of Russians who were harvesting Mastodon tusks using water pressure in a gigantic sinkhole in Russia. They are actually working illegally, and at first didn't want their faces shown on TV. The Ivory is technically legal, as it is considered a fossilized Ivory, not harvested from killing elephants in Africa which is the big problem with the Ivory trade. Anyway, the Mastodon Ivory is available, but I have no idea where you get it. As for Jeff Beck, if you watch the video of Seymour talking about the Tele-Gib, he made the guitar and then showed it to Beck, who then had it for a while and used in on a couple of albums for certain songs, mostly for pinky-swell stuff, because the guitar does that so well. He didn't commission any of the specs for the guitar, Seymour made it from various components and pickups he rewound himself, so he is the one that put the Mastodon Ivory nut in it, so he is the "picky" one. I think any kind of bone nut would be sufficient for a clone.
