me and dave grohl

a while back some dave grohl drumtracks (from QOTSA recording sessions) were floating around. i grabbed all 3. this is the final one. i'd be interested not in just comments about the song but about the mix. i did some non-standard stuff, at least for me. i've got drums center and hard left. then bass center and hard right. the drums on the L have reverb and the drums in the center have compression. instead of panning gtrs hard L-R like i normally do i have them about 50% out. so the mix is kind of strange but i like it. it would be good to hear some independent comments though. and please, feel free to be as honest as possible with your criticism. if you think it sounds bad tell me!

i dig it. it would be nice if i was not so familar with the real song. i think the bass should be fuzzed out. the mix isnt bad but the drums are very pushed up in the mix.

thanks a lot for taking a listen man. i really appreciate it. i'm glad you like it. yea, the drums are very upfront. but i'm totally in love with those drums. grohl is a beast.

as for the bass, i've kind of experimented with the fuzz bass but haven't been able to dial in a decent fuzz sound. but you're probably right. thanks again for the constructive feedback.

Idk if you knew that quite a few complete nirvana multitracks have surfaced.

get in there and see what a beast grohl is with albini's production.
