Me and my deluxe strat HSS

I've had my deluxe strat for about 6 months now. Wow, what a great guitar!... But when I'm jammin', my right hand makes contact with the volume knob... after a few minutes of jammin' I un-intentionally roll back the volume. On my other MIM strat, I just removed the knob and left the post sticking out which works out fine ... Can I do this with the deluxe? Its got the S-1 switch built in to the volume knob...

Also, anyone know a trick the keep the tip of the selector switch in place? Mine keeps coming loose...

Hmm.. with the S-1 switching it may be difficult. I used to hit mine too but I don't anymore...you can try setting your bridge to float, so that way you will have to have your hand forward a bit.

Thanks. My trem is floating. I've tried different things like wearing the guitar lower or higher, and changing my hand position, but then it affects my playing. When I wear the guitar in a comfortable spot, my right hand just naturally falls into the position where it touches the vol knob...

I'm open to more suggestions if ya got 'em...

i hear people talking about this a lot and the only solution is to adjust your style or pick up another guitar...

Just get into the habit of reaching down regularly and rolling that volume control up all the way. After 30 years, it's become like a nervous tick with me. I even do it when playing unplugged.

Don't have any experience on this, but you could put some tape around the lever and then put the tip. A bit of wax might also help, with or without the tape. Just some suggestions to get the ball rolling.

putting a felt washer around the base of the pot before you put the knob on will help it stay put better.

Otherwise, ditch one of those stupid tone pots and stick it there!

Ya, I used to keep hitting my hand and putting it back to "10" to check all the time, but now I leave the volume on 5-7 then put it just the last way just for a bit more OD on the solos. hmmm this is hard to say how you can fix this, the tone knob ideea is a good one.
