Me and the TB12

Hello Folks,

I haven't been here for over a year, I just noticed this when renewing my profile.
Heh... so much has changed through that time. My playing got evolved and I got better skills as a musician and a guitarist...

I also got a guitar that I lusted for long. Charvel 475 with black finish with lightnings... made in 1991, all original with Charvel tweed hard shell case.

At first I thought that I like the Stock 50BC humbucker but I didn't.
So, I grabbed a TB12 Screaming Demon today and Installed it.
The first thing I said is: Wow! After so many pickup replacements and tests.
I tried pretty much any Dimarzio pickup that's relevant for todays music... and never quite liked it.

This Seymour Duncan pickup is EXACTLY what I searched for. Now Get that 80's Metal tone, but I also play variaty of musical genres of Rock... Now that's a really COOL pickup!

Thank You SD! I can't believe I haven't used them till now... the only experience I had was with a Jackson KE3 where I installed a Dimebucker which was cool also... but the guitar didn't fit at the end... well, you learn from your mistakes...

I installed the pickup with all the original electronics installed, that is the mid boost and all the rest... no problem with volume and such, I feared because the stock J200's have lo impedence and the SD has high impedence, unless I'm mistaken here, and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. I also thought that since the pots have lower values than normal it would hurt the sound of the SD pickup, well, it doesn't...

So, this is it... that's my story... can anyone tell me anything about the TB12 that can help me get the most of it?

In case this helps: my amp is a combo Peavey Delta Blues 210. I use several pedals for drive such as: Marshall BB2, Boss BD2, Artec Cool Drive, I'm supposed to receive my Boss MD2 soon, very cute pedal despite its simplicity.

Thanks!

If the Demon gets too bright for you, just take out the stock hex polepieces and install a set of traditional fillister poles. This will round off the high end a bit and give you a bit more growl to the mids.
