me messing up the blues

Re: me messing up the blues

not bad, dood! ur ideas are good. sometimes they lack a bit of conviction, though. nyce use of 3rds & dbl stops.
tone is pretty nice, too.

Re: me messing up the blues

thanks foamy...just some random clean pod xt tones and my crappy playing
also I didnt use a pick I used my fingers(ala jeff beck or seymour)

I have been soo lazy in playing guitar....iv mainly been strumming my acustic lately and the Parker just got out of the shop so my electric chops are at best "shakey" ....it scares me when I hear myself play because I know I can do much better.

Foamy hits the nail on the head. Many interessting ideas you´ve got but try to play with more power b/c it sounds a bit nervous that way. :)

Re: me messing up the blues

thanks SS interesting ideas? is that code for something new....
I know..I think I will use a pick next time....im no so hot using fingers on electric only acustic.

Re: me messing up the blues

Your phrasing, melodic ideas are spot on but you could play it more, as foamy said, conviction.

The overwhelming majority of forum members here are poseurs, & it's painfully obvious. Isn't it?!?

Re: me messing up the blues

Dig the vibe, just let more go and play because it is fun!:D
And I like that you just play like you!!
Blues is not easy to do, it may be simple but not easy, and the vibe was there, that is the major thing!
I should know, I am a lousy bluesplayer:D

Re: me messing up the blues

nice little vibe

watch the time though ... you get a "push me - pull you" effect in a few spots

and yeah, gotta play with a touch more 'guts'

thanks for sharing it

thank you for all your great comments, cunstructive critizism's they help me a lot

Reminds me of when I first started playing guitar I got 3 books on blues soloing and the keith whyatt (sp?) warner bro's blues videos and I practiced a lot....I need to dig that stuff up cause it helped me get in the groove better.

Re: me messing up the blues

I dig bro!! You and I should start a band called "The Rusty Blues"!!

It is intimidating posting clips here with all of the seriously good pros that hang here. I mean.....most people, especially newbies don't realize that folks here such as foamy are accomplished musicians! I salute you bro!!

no kidding its intimidating... after socal jam'06 I was very humbled with the talent here on the forum...I was so humbled I didnt want to play anything but bass (at least im ok on bass) and just sat back and watched some REAL guitar players at work!!

Everytime I post a song or clip on here I am terrified because I know the stuff I put up is utter crap compared to a lot of the clips on here.

Don't be so hard on yourself! I think you are way better than you think you are.

The fact that you have the stones to actually post clips, even though you think you're not as good as you could be (which is a good attitude btw), shows that you really care about music and guitar. That, to me, is more important than ripping out monster solos on every take.

Everyone has slumps ... just keep practicing and looking for new inspiration. It will pass.

Re: me messing up the blues

Hey, got any of those blues backings? I'd like to give a couple of them a shot..I've even got my stuff setup for recording right now...

Re: me messing up the blues

I liked what you did. Maybe this will give me the motivation to figure out how to record and post some tracks, too.
