meanest distortion pedal ever?

just distortion, no wierd effect.
want to sound like slash/zakk wyld/somting even heavyer
priviously loved the ibanez tube screamer for pure tone value!!!
any recomendations?

Well Boss Blues Drivers kind of are like meaner Tube Screamers. They can be modded to sound better.

As far as the absolute meanest OD/dist, I enjoyed terrorizing the DOD Death Metal Distortion for a time. That thing is nuts. I actually liked it more than the Boss DS-1.

id like to try that new danelectro things. the pedals with the tye-dye... nevermind.

but all in all... i hate metal pedals. all u need is distortion and (if u want) an overdrive. i think ull get more of a 'korn' sound rather than "zakk" sound with a metal zone or whatever. its just my opinion.
and i don't wanna bust anyone's balls, but all like the poser kids buy metal masters and stuff cause they think theyll get an immediate 'metallica' tone from a $100 pedal. i wish.
( im not calling anyone on here a poser, but like people at my school like love the darn things.

if u want a slash sound, a blues driver maybe?, a ds-1 or a sd-1.
for zakk- sd-1 or pretty much anything that sounds like a cranked marshall.

oh ya .....i dont wanna get annoying or anything......... but u can get a million different sounds out of a million different equipment. a single pedal alone wont get u 'the heaviest sound'.
e.i. ur probually wont get the heaviest sound with a fender strat loaded with duckbuckers and hot strat stacks (or whatever) through a fender amp with a boss metal zone.

a jackson with a dimebucker(b) and an invader would give u a heavy sound through a marshall jcm800 with a boss metal zone. :burnout:
