Yes, I did the 12th fret trick. Then I realized I did my sketch on the wrong side of the board. So I’m back doing it again...
It’s one piece of black walnut but I plan to glue top/bottom together to give me the thickness. I can then do all the routing before I glue them together so once it’s done I’m not trying to make pathways between the boards. Hopefully this will save me some time and allow me to take advantage of the slopes sides.
I foresee a long day of shaping and sanding coming up.

I have none of those fancy tools you speak of... I have a hand rasp tool, plane, dremel, and saws. I'm checking to see if there are any other tools hiding around I might make use of.
