Medium frets versus Jumbo frets

Re: Medium frets versus Jumbo frets

Just get huge frets and if they're out of control you can hack them down.

LOL. No seriously, you can bring them down with a fret dress if you need to. I do my own and they play perfectly. Huge frets give the feel of only touching the strings and frets without touching the wood like scalloped. If you don't like that feel you can just bring them down.

Re: Medium frets versus Jumbo frets

That's is full tard

Actually the Summer NAMM 2004 booth for Jet Frets was full tard. They were touting the increased sustain offered by these massive I-beams with rounded tops they called frets, and their booth player was using a USA Les Paul with EMG 81s through a TripleRec on max gain. The weight of the guitar combined with the high-output pickup AND the dimed TR pretty much negated any such claims IMO.

Of course, I'm an a-hole, so I pointed this out. :D

Would you say they are more or less tard than the crystal ones?
