Hey guys, my band just recorded our first demo. First of all looking for opinions on the music. Also guitar tone, and guitar solos. We try to keep it real with that stuff.

Anyways, the link is Myspace.com/incendiumband

Thanks in advance- Andrew

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

cool stuff.Reminds me on carcass "heartwork"!!!.
Good rythm ,good style.Need more balls on bass. But thats what my ear says!!!
Keep on like that.you are great!!!

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Damn... you guys have a fan out in CA ;).

Not surprising, considering where you're from though, that you sound like that. :laugh2:

Demo sounds really well produced tho... want to share the signal chain? Guitars, amps, mics, etc.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Whoa...I'm not even a big fan of that style of music and I LOVED it! You guys are freaking amazing: the melodies, tones, sound-quality, etc. were all top-knotch. I'm a fan ;)

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

great song. the voices sound a little muffled to my ears (maybe im so used to CoB with that kind of singing style) and I agree on the bass being a little weak, sounds like if the guitar is carrying all the balls.

but all in all great work. congrats.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

that is freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the vocalist has got the cookie monster style down as good as it gets.

Sounds similar to killswitchengage which I like, nice breakdown with acoustics too!

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Very impressive. Sounds like In Flames, only better.
Be sure to let us know when your CD is available in stores.
I'll buy it.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Thanks guys this is all great! Were all around 16 years old, our bass player being 13 and absolutely holding down his parts. We had this guy Peter Rutcho from Damage Studios come to our basement rehearsal space and we recorded there. The bass drum was triggered then replaced with a different sound, and an arsenal of mics from sm 57s to shure condesners were used to get the other drums. Guitar was mic'd with an sm57 and another decent condenser. Bass went through a Sans Amp. Vocals done with a condensor. Guitar rigs were pretty much Amplifer---> noise gate----> guitar.
2 amps used are a mesa single recto half stack and a 6505 half stack with an avatar cab. Glad you guys like the tunes. You think they are good enough to sell for 5 bucks a demo? Anyways comments on guitar playing/ songwriting / anything is still appreciated!

Thanks- Andrew

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

I say sell them for $2 to get your word of mouth and sound out there, good recording, I would consider getting the singer or a band member to get down some regular notes and singing like fear factory or killswitch engage does

but like I said it is extremely good and I am 100% positive I will never be able to do those types of growls or guitar lines and if you guys sound like that live that is fing insane and you should go far far far - a promotor should just basically get yall on tour or something and promote that all are under 18 years old!

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

You guys are damn good considering the age, I'm not into this kind of Vocals, I'm a metal fan but with a regular vocals.
Guitar works and sound good, Bass sound need to add in Compression so that it won't sound flabby, Drum works good.
Vocal not my taste sorry.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

No problem on the vocals man. Obviously in the vast world of metal people will have different opinions, and thats why we try and incorporate a bunch of different musical elements (guitar harmonies, leads, etc) thanks for the feedback!

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Recto + 5150 = badass ;). I need to grab another 5150.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Hey guys update. We've sent our demo to roadrunner records (Trivium, Killswitch Engage), and my brother is going to have his friend who works at Universal Records pass the demo along. Hopefully this gets our name out there more.

I'd also suggest checking out Century Media and Earache, as well ;).

Also, Ben from Unearth has his own record label, might want to get a copy to him next time he's playing around there. The music sounds like it'd be perfect for that label.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

Hey again. Yeah Century Media is a nasty label, but our friends in Cadaveryne, (myspace.com/cadaveryne) got turned down for age reasons, and they are older than us. We are sending our demo into the New England Metal Hardcore Festival and hopefully our stuff is good enough for that. Anyways what would you guys categorize us as? Thanks

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

I'd say you guys are fairly standard melodic metalcore, reminds me a lot of Himsa. Might want to send a demo out to Prosthetic Records, that's what they're on.

Re: Melodic Metal New Demo!

****ing hell, Cadaveryne kicks ass.
