Mesa Boogie 295 Stereo Power Amp

Re: Mesa Boogie 295 Stereo Power Amp

To this day, the Strategy 500 remains possibly the loudest amp I've ever stood in front of, connected to 4 412 cabs. I shared a rehearsal room with a guy who had one, and we hooked it all up with our cabs and his JMP-1 preamp.

Re: Mesa Boogie 295 Stereo Power Amp

Back in the day, Smith built an amp for the audiophiles group, ala Phase Linear, etc. All tube, and they just killed. For the life of me, I can't remember the name.

Can't really imagine what you would use the Strategy for now...bass? PA?

These are dual-purpose amps, btw....yep...they can heat your house in the winter! LOL. ;)

What's funny is that this is a 2 year old thread that I started, someone necro'd it, then I responded to it a couple posts back as if someone else had started it! ROFL!!!!!

FWIW I went with the 2:90 lol.

Re: Mesa Boogie 295 Stereo Power Amp

I'm looking to swap a 295 down to a 50/50 or 20/20. Killer amp, but just too big for me now, need less watts and weight!

Re: Mesa Boogie 295 Stereo Power Amp

I use TriAxis & 2:90 with two Thiele cabinets at one bar - loud, heaps of head room...

I like it for that bar, but it is too loud for another (Smaller) club!

ROFL I can't believe this thread was resurrected again. I actually just recently got rid of my Tri and 2:90 =D.
