Mesa Boogie Cab-Clone Question

Hello There. I have a question: - I want to plug my PODxt (Left Output - Mono), without the cab sim, into the CabClone speaker input, but i'm afraid i'll damage it or something.

Also i don't know if i should use a speaker cable or a regular guitar cable? And also again, i want to plug the Line Out of the CC to the new interface i got
*-*, but am not sure if to use a speaker cable or a guitar cable again.

Cheers!

Re: Mesa Boogie Cab-Clone Question

I doubt you'll damage anything, but I also doubt that what you're proposing will work. The cab clone is expecting to see an amplified signal instead of a line-level one, so it'll be very quiet if you can hear anything at all.

Re: Mesa Boogie Cab-Clone Question

Hmm...And what about the Line Out from the CC to the Line In of the Interface? Is there a recommended type of cable, or any good guitar cable is the best option?

Re: Mesa Boogie Cab-Clone Question

In both cases (XT to cab clone, cab clone to interface), regular cable will be fine, but as dystrust says, I'm not sure it'll work or give you anything serviceable from a recording standpoint. It's much more likely that the cab sims in XT will be far better than the cab clone route.

Re: Mesa Boogie Cab-Clone Question

This isn't going to work well.
The Cab Clone wants to see a much higher level input, and was designed to record a cooking tube amp directly through it's speaker out jack. I would just use the PODs cab sims here.

Re: Mesa Boogie Cab-Clone Question

Hmm, thanks for the infos, i'll try that then. x) And another question, now that i bought this good Interface (Lexicon I-O|22), i plugged the PODxt in it and fell in love with it for the first time.

Have you guys noticed too, that plugging a modeler in an interface sounds much, much better than it's phone output? Or do the modelers you guys have/tested, sound better on your headphones?

Hmm, it can't be plugged in cooking. That can only be done with Power Soakers connected. The CC is just a Load or something like that (it says on the Manual for you to play it as you'd play it with the speaker). Which reminds me to ask too, do you guys know any good soakers that are sold separately and that aren't too expensive?
