Mesa Boogie + Guitar Center = no more?

Re: Mesa Boogie + Guitar Center = no more?

For the bassheads:

The Boston-near GC in Danvers has a Mesa Walkabout 12" combo for $1199, new.

You can get a 10% off coupon, I got one from the new google maps when I navigated there.

Couldn't pull the trigger myself as I got pissed that it doesn't have a compressor at that price and a single 12" just doesn't sound right to me - but it's a really good price.

Re: Mesa Boogie + Guitar Center = no more?

It seemed like Mesa had a tight reign on GC anyway, because when I went to purchase my new Mark V (Came out in the package, so not on the floor, and the manager reserved it for me in the back where nobody could retrieve it but me when I put it in layaway), I asked if there was anyway I could use a coupon to save some cash and they said, "We can't except coupons on Mesa gear. It's not allowed". So that could've been a reason.

Plus, on Mesa's side, they probably knew that GC was not experienced with their products and pretty much treated them as if they were just another amp company, and Mesa wanted to be represented in a more professional manner. Who really knows other than either of them, but there has to be a huge explanation.

Luckily I got mine when I got the chance. That being said, I bought the 4x12 cab at Sweetwater.
