Mesa Boogie Price Increases

I didn't say anything about being prosperous. I said looks like demand is starting to crawl up cause people are more certain and more willing to spend than to save. Whether or not they are drowned in debt is another matter.

Yep on major price increases and Boogie is not alone. Kiesel just dropped the $100 option discount and raised prices across the board also.
To make things much worse we are about to see major changes in Tax reporting laws for buying and selling for 2022 on 3rd party sites and payment sites. We need to be aware of what it will do to the used markets. Check out what it does to how we buy s and sell used gear.as it will affect all sales site as well as funding sources like your credit cards and Pay Pal ect.

Not allowed to talk about why and how this is happening but be aware that this will profoundly affect ever one of us here who lives in the US.

Before the plandemic it is said that Mesa had its best year in history. They have been out of stock on most things for a year now. Gibson bought them out so I would say with two price hikes in the last few months that it is Gibson greed vs. the failing economy we are currently in.

The good thing is that since most of us lose money when we resell gear this won’t really affect us :D

Very true and I will say Mesa Boogie was slower to increase prices than many other companies. BAD (Boutique Amp Distribution) was the first to hike prices on all the brands they carry. Of course the used market is out of control on all things so maybe they decided to strike while the overpriced iron was hot and increased prices because people are now conditioned to paying more than they should be for things. If they are playing the materials price game it will be interesting to see when prices on those parts drop...lol. Price changes only work one way and that is upward.

Given their backlog of orders, component scarcity/price increases and rising domestic labor costs, raising the price is entirely justifiable. I never like to see prices for anything go up, but it's not like they were doubled for no reason at all.

The increase in prices should not be seen as good. The demand vs supply for tube amps is not high enough to support the idea that this is a product of that metric. The price increase is not even really due to scarcity in parts. It is inflation, greed, and bottom lines personified. Labor challenges are a very real thing. And when you don't have the labor to do the job, it takes longer to produce, which eats into your bottom line. When you have to pay more for the labor you have, it eats into your bottom line. A 2-3% increase in price is not too alarming. Keep in mind that a 2% increase on a $2000 amp is only $40. To see a $300-$600 increase in price is part greed and part bottom line increase. There is not enough demand to sell the amps at the old price and make money, so you have to sell the same number of amps at a higher dollar amount to meet your goal.

And they keep selling them. Opening stores. Starting a record company...etc. We are seeing the business model in action.

Just like Harley Davidson, the brand is strong and people will buy anything no matter the price and quality for that logo and lifestyle...lol.
