anyone have opinions on this amp? does it really sound like a marshall or vox or both or what?

Re: Mesa Boogie Stiletto ACE

I hesitate to give much of an opinion. I have only played one at a local store where the salespeople think you are going to blow an amp up if you turn it up past one. From what I could tell, some settings do have a distinct Marshall flavor, but it is much more versatile than just that. If Andy Timmons is pleased with it, it must have some serious mojo. He kicks some tone butt. There are half a dozen other threads about these, if you use the search function.

Re: Mesa Boogie Stiletto ACE

i just read that stilleto ace doesn't have reverb! what's up with that? they look big enough to have a reverb tank, so i don't see why not. at $1,600, you'd figure it would at least have basic spring reverb. ****, i'd rather spend the extra $400 and get teh marshall jvm 410c

Re: Mesa Boogie Stiletto ACE

The JVM comes with digital reverb.... it's no different than having a pedal in the FX loop.

In addition, I'd never pay more for a Marshall than I would for a Mesa. Once you've seen the insides of both you'll understand why.

Re: Mesa Boogie Stiletto ACE

Ya, I'd take a mesa over a marshall for the most part. I haven't played thru a stilletto ace yet, but if it's anything like the express 5:50 or better, I'm sure it kicks ass.
