mesa clip???

Re: mesa clip???

Your welcome to listen to my clips ... they are all with an original Mesa Boogie from '78. It may not be the style you are looking for ... it's all straight into the Boogie.

If it's another style your after, maybe someonewill post.

Re: mesa clip???

although it is not what i would play most of the time right now that music is sort of my style because i like most of what you have there. do you sing and play the bass too? if so you are pretty talented, not the best singer ever but pretty good for blues and classic rock i think.

Re: mesa clip???

I'm not really a singer ... always did background vocals ... but it's even hard for me to listen to my instrumentals, so I do my best to front the songs.

Some of the material I'm playing bass ... a few keyboards ... all the guitars ... acoustic, electric, slide. I do the rest so I can play the guitar parts. Much of the background on the covers are computer generated MIDI but you can usually tell pretty easy.

Some of the newer stuff is Jamstix drums ... me on bass, keyboards, guitar and vocals. I'm trying to improve by repeating the process.

Hope the Boogie tone is helpful ... I've had that amp since '78 and love it.

Re: mesa clip???

well yeah, if they still make them like that then i know that they are very versitile. thanks they help a lot. if they can get they metal tone i'm hoping they can then i'm sold because i know that it gets pretty damn good cleans. thanks.

Re: mesa clip???

probably my least favorite musically, but sintmital value holds this one.
my fave is All Along.
Clean from the rec, and they said that it couldn't be done.

:smokin:

Re: mesa clip???

there are a crazy number of clips over in the Mesa forum cant remember the exact site, and from what I can remember there were some that had a little more of the distortion side of the mesa's.

There are two songs there. I use a Mesa Dual Recto with zero effects. I am the lone guitarist. The overall quality isn't great but you can get a sense of what the Mesa does.

I used a mahogany bodied guitars with maple tops and a duncan distortion in the bridge.

pretty much perfect my main axe is mahogany body and maple top. qualoty was bad bad but the guitar tone sounded pretty close to what i want.

the quality sucks definitely. The EQ was really scooped on that as well. Mids zeroed out and the highs and lows on ten. Gain was at about 3 oclock and the presence was also dimed.

Re: mesa clip???

... looking for a mark IV. listen to this! ...

Yes, all those are a mark 4 but "Apathy", ... at least that's what they say.

The Mark IV is really a great amp. Very modern sounds and design, but it's considered vintage in a lot of crowds due to it's design date. It was way ahead of its time when they released it, and they are still building!! Some changes along the way, but still the mark at heart.

Definately check one out, but spend time with it. Patience and logic with the controls is needed, because all mesas are designed not to be dimed.
