Mesa F30

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a F30 head, but there are no dealers in the area to test drive one -- So... I was hoping I could get some sound clips from owners here?

Also if anybody owns one how do they sound at bedroom volumes. I do not play out or with a drummer. I just noodle around in my room and record a little.

Thanks!

Re: Mesa F30

VERY LOUD...

Had an F-50...LOVED the amp..better than most tubers at bedroom levels...but...it NEEDS to be cranked (cept for cleans)...and those MESA's are loud as all get-out...F-30 is easily as loud as my 1987X 50 Watt.

You can get an attentuator...but ya still won't get the speaker push...just the power amp distortion.

Very nice amp no doubt. F30 Combo is a little ratty/boxy sounding but a head with a good cab and speakers sounds awesome.

I ended up selling the F50, and now have the amp in my sig and she's much better at low volumes for the bedroom...even though only 10 less watts.

I've got a DC-10 100 watt head and I don't play in a bedroom, but I do in my basement, and with the master volume knob, I can control my output quite well and still get great tube amp distortion.

I say, go ahead and go for the F30.

Rock On - Kac

Re: Mesa F30

I got an F30 recently and it is pretty sweet. If you like the recognizable mesa voicing, you probably will like it. Here's some clips that only show some gain. I think this sounds generally like the amp, but it can sound a lot different and better in person. Remember this is done with emg's I think as well. Also, they aren't my clips.

You have the Rivera Chubster 40 right? I was actually considering a Rivera Clubster 25 or Pubster 25. But alas, no dealers in my crappy area. lol Just out of curiosity, got any clips of your Chubster, clean and dirty? I've never heard a Rivera before.

I will be using a TS808 Tube Screamer, 1x12 pine cab Emi Governor speaker with the F30 head... (or whatever amp I end up with). You've peaked my interest in Rivera again! lol Argg!!

Whoa, the mp3 Throbbing was great. I think the F30 head will do just fine.

I read that the clean channel has a push/pull bright or something, is this true?

Yes, that is true, Its on the gain knob. You pull it to engage the bright switch
