It's been around a year since I plugged in and a 3-1/2 month wait on this little monster.
Awesome amp, I'm still in the infant stage with this. Lots to learn.

Nice ... I remember waiting 6 months for my Boogie to be built ... long time. I have kept it for 28 years ... no regrets. Enjoy.

Re: Mesa Mark IV finally here.............ah.....

Now all you need is a matching cab, that is one nice looking Mark IV. I like how it only says 'Boogie' too.

Re: Mesa Mark IV finally here.............ah.....

I use the combo version (I think its a 1x12) of the Mk IV for gigs and sometimes I use it for band practices. Its truely a pain in the ass when playing at very low levels with the master at like 3. Every change EQ change you make is always "too much." Turn the bass down a tad and you are too bright, raise it up and you dont cut through. Its really hard to deal with, but once you get it, its amazing. I had a great lead tone set up for a while, but I didnt write it down, to come back a few practices later with the knobs all changed. So now I just bring my Gibson amp to practices, 1 knob, no mess to deal with.

Clean channel is pretty much blackface fender tones. Its pretty close to that, very big sounding. Clean sounds IMO are much easier to dial up with that amp compared to the distortion. Even though its hard to set up, when you are doing gigs and you can crank it a good amount, the thing is cooking! I had it on the crunch channel with low gain settings and slighty bassy setting and high volume and boosted it up with my Fulldrive II on the flat mids setting. It was amazing! I never gotten a tone like that before in my life! It was indescribable! And then another time, I was using the MkIII with a keeley modded blues driver and that sounded pretty damn good too! Gave me a great pete townsend/hendrix tone. So good luck with setting up that one, but once you find your settings, youll be set and very happy!

I love the wheat grill on mesa amps. getting a tremoverb in the mail this week with a wheat grill courtesy of paytojt!

its no mark IV though, to you

Re: Mesa Mark IV finally here.............ah.....

That rocks!

Do you know if Boogie has a custom shop that could be a perfect replica of a MkIV/MKIIC+?

Re: Mesa Mark IV finally here.............ah.....

That is way awesome. So before you were playing the recto or dual recto? Let us know how they compare. I think the mark IV is pretty awesome and would go that route over the others. Congrats!!!!

Yeah I had the Dual and Single Rectos. The Mark IV is versitile whereas the Rectifier series is just that, sounds like a Rectifier. Multi sounded vs. single sounded.:smokin:

Thanks for the kind remarks, it's really settling in and I'm really having fun playing everyday:)

Re: Mesa Mark IV finally here.............ah.....

You're lucky, that's one fine amp! Happy tweaking, and post us some clips.

Re: Mesa Mark IV finally here.............ah.....

I have a Mark IV 112 EVM combo, and I like to use it with Mesa's 112 EVM Theile cab for a sweet little mini-stack. I've had my Mark IV nearly four years now, and it is an amazing amp. It does take quite a bit of a learning curve, but Mesa provides a chart with some sweet-spot settings, and you don't need to stray from these to find great tone. I play a wide variety of music in a cover band, and this is a great amp for that situation.

I used a GT-12AX7-M in the V1 socket, and Winged C/SED 6L6 power tubes, with Winged C/SED EL34s in the Class A sockets. Good tubes make a big difference.
