Has anyone had a chance to try out the Roadster by Mesa? I'd like some opinions. This looks like one sweeeeet amp! I'm GASsin' for it now...

I's also be interested to know how much they go for $$$...

Thanks!

Re: Mesa Roadster ?

Do NOT quote me on this, but i was made to believe that the Speedsters are a replacement for the F-series !

Do not know how true that is though ! Anyone ?

IF that is true, it should be about the same as the current range of F-units/models !

They seem good, feature wise, but i am still unsure how i feel about the cosmetics !

Would love to try a 30watter !

Re: Mesa Roadster ?

The roadster is really awesome. I loved it when I played it and have wanted one ever since. The price is around 2100-2200, so that's why I don't have one yet. I was able to get any kind of sound from it, from crystal clean to full on distortion madness! I hope I can get one someday.

Re: Mesa Roadster ?

i own a roadster head - was $1900 + tax

i play it thru (2) 1x12" close back boogie cabs with 8 ohm celestions

i really really dig it alot .. in fact, i had one floating holiday coming to me that i had to use by friday 1/26 ... so i used it today when the house was empty and cranked the bad boy ...

it does a lot of stuff real well - like the lonestar cleans, the recto crunch, and the boogie leads, for example ... but the thing that made me giggle all day was ch 2's 'brit' mode ... i hadnt messed with it before .. damn if it wasnt a ton of fun to riff on AC/DC tunes, reo speedwagon tunes, and then deep purple tunes (with the strat) ...

think of it as a road king without the progressive linkage, cab switching, and multiple power tube types - highly recommend

Cool, Thanks! I'm thinking about getting the 2x12 combo... I'm really drooling for it now!!!

  :fingersx: :fingersx:

Re: Mesa Roadster ?

i opted for the head + cabs 'cus the combo is HEAVY !! .. even with casters, you still gotta lug it in and out of the car, etc .... good luck - have fun
