Mesa Single Rectifier

Hey guys. I've been thinking about buying a 50 watt Mesa Series 1 Single Rectifier. My only reluctance is that I've read that the Parallel FX Loop doesn't seem to work well with delay pedals, even though it has a mix knob. I love my delay pedal and would not want the Mesa if it can't take delay.

Does anyone have any insight as to whether or not Mesa's parallel effect loop is an issue for delay pedals?

I also noticed that it doesn't have any kind of direct out. Do you think that should be a concern?

Any other general opinions on these amps?

The loop on those amps really suck, but the amps themselves are quite cool! I had one for about three months, and loved it - it just wasn't quite 'me'.

That said, there's an easy mod for the FX loop. I never had it done, but I'm sure others can chime in on it. If not, call Mesa directly and ask them about converting it to a series loop.

Yeah, I have a general opinion--They're incredible. Unless the delay pedal was just YOUR sound, I'd never not buy an amp that's the sound you hear in your head because of a pedal. Now, is it the sound you want? That's the big question.
