What brand are newer 6l6 Mesa Power tubes? Sovtek? Ruby?

According to the Mesa website the 6L6's are Chinese. The 5881's are Russian and most likely Sovtek. My Guess? Ruby's are rebranded Sovtek's?

Mesa's current 6L6 in models like the Recto is the Mesa STR-440, which are tested and rebranded Ruby 6L6MSTR, made in China.

^ Correct. They're also a huge step up from the Sovtek STR-430s - much more musical, and "sweeter".

My used Mesa came with Russian 5881's under the Mesa STR-425 badge...and I hated them. They sounded small and weak (age/wear unknown). My "baseline" was to start with these STR-440's. I like them a lot.
