metal base plate

Did anyone of you tried to detach the metal plate holding from the coils? I want to upgrade a bridge pickup in my Godin guitar with Alnico but the metal plate of the stock pickup has two pickup adjustment screws on each side. I am planning to remove the metal plate from the stock pickup then I will put that metal plate into the new Alnico pickup. Anyone knows what Im talking about? Please advise. tnx

welcome to the forum!!

not sure about the godin humbuckers but on most buckers, you need to loosen the four screws so the metal plate drops enough to get the magnet out
