Metal dist pedal??????

Yep, another rookie question. And I bet that I could find a whole bunch of similar threads all over the site if I started to look. But you know what? I'm just too lazy! :barf: So, what dist pedals should give me a good, warm metal tone? Not looking for versatility... just what works best IYO.

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

Tone Bone Hot British Distortion , it`s got a lot of knobs but it sounds good once you get it dialed in . I should be getting mine back from my nephew anyday now.

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

Keeley Modded Boss MT-2. I've head good things about that pedal. Wish I could try one out for myself.

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

For metal, Get either Boss MT-2 or Digitech's Metal Master. If I were you, MT-2 does the job amazingly. The Digitech sounds fake after a while, and it has way too much feedback. Also, the mt-2 is more versatile. I own it, and I got a punk sound from a metal pedal(Really hard to get, but it's thick and warm! Marshall style)

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

are u looking at cheap, or expensive? cause pretty much anything that has "metal" written on it would do the trick.... and pretty much any distortion should be good for metal. u should go to ur guitar shop and test some dist. pedals out.

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

Metal Zone is king, as far as affordable pedals go. The Ibanez Smashbox is pretty fun, too.

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

the metal master is a horrible horrible pedal. Its more just a throaty buzz that kinda resembles other pedals

metalzone, not stock, check out keeley & inyguitarist's mods

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

Don't listen to the others, i love the Digitech metal master! I had this pedal, then sold it, that i regret! One of the best pedals i ever tried!

Boss metal zone is :censored:

Re: Metal dist pedal??????

Get three mxr 10 band eqss. Plug them in series. Crank the first two. On the last one the signal goes through, scoop everything from 250hz-700hz or so and crank everything else.

i reccomend trying the pedal thru your amp with your guitar, taking notes on what you like & don't, e-mail him with the list, and ask if he makes a mod that will fix that but keep whatever else. Be VERY specific

Now there's an easy and cost effective solution :) j/k

Indyguitarist MT-2. I have a link below, if you have any talent with a soldering iron at all, you can DIY for $10. Maybe like $12 after parts.
