Metal passive pickup for Jackson Dinky

Re: Metal passive pickup for Jackson Dinky

I have a SH5 custom and a SH6 distortion and the difference is pretty much what you want. Its hotter, but still has clarity. The black winter is pretty similar to the distortion from what I've heard, its just a more even EQ so that might be a great option as well.

Duncan Distortion and Black Winter should be good.

What about Dimebucker?!

Never played the PATB-2, but was just playing my Alt 8 equipped Ibanez. I like it.
If you really like the PATB-2, how about this http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/custom-shop/humbuckers/crazy_8/?

Well it looks great but it's too expensive for me...
The choice is between SH-6 and PATB-2, the PATB-2 seems to be more powerful (DC resistance 21K) but it could mismatch the single coil I have in the neck (duncan designed)...

If you have the cash for it, a BKP Ceramic Nailbomb would do a hell of a job. If not, Duncan Distortion will for sure do the job.

Another vote for the PATB-2. Often overlooked (although not in this thread!) it is a great pick up.

Re: Metal passive pickup for Jackson Dinky

I was looking for the PATB-2 but it's impossible to be found here in Italy, not even on Ebay or Amazon.
So Distortion or Black winter, which is now available in several shops. A shame for the PATB-2 but it seems to be overlooked by resellers.

Re: Metal passive pickup for Jackson Dinky

I would go Black Winter. It has more bass and less fizz than the distortion and I like it a ton.

Re: Metal passive pickup for Jackson Dinky

If you're going for the Duncan Distortion, get the TB-6, as I find that one to be more articulate than the SH-6. Can't explain why, though.

Yes the TB-6 is my version, as the guitar has a trem bridge
