Re: Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

DAMN!! Thats freakin awesome. Sounds like some pretty bad ass Melodic deathmetal. Jeff your badass dude. See you on the cover of Metal Maniacs soon. LOL

Re: Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

Since everyone is saying kill the reverb let me say NO! It needs some reverb there is just a little too much of it though. If the wet mix was brought down a bit it would sound just about right.

Most definitely. Don't take it out completely, but don't make it sound like he's singing in the shower either.

Re: Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

AMIR did a good job. And black metal vocals are usially back in the mix.. I like it as it is.

Re: Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

the vocals are kinda ehhh
you really do need someone with a real powerful voice like halford-ish to really do the guitar playing justice IMO

Last time I checked high pitched wailing wasn't used in melodic death and theres good reason why it isn't.

okay not like the glass shattering type screming but you know a little more treble and less bass kinda style. Yeah it should be downplayed for most lyrics but really come alive at the right parts if you know what i mean.

Re: Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

Two types of vocals I hear over my music.

Power metal in the veins of Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, or Mercenary.

Black Dahlia Murder style - mix of growls and screams.

Re: Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

FYI I was fully planning on incorporating singing but I couldn't hear a melody in my head for that track. It pretty much sounded like dark tranquility to me so I growled accordingly :P.

I'm gonna try children of the night this weekend and try to incoporate some singing(though I'm definitely not halford that's for sure).

Oh and about the reverb... yeah, that was my bad. It can't be taken off cuz I applied it directly to save on cpu energy :P I'll be sure to leave it dry and let Jeff add verb if try any other songs.

Your tracks are killer. :bigok:
