Metric Fine Tuner Tailpiece?

Does anyone know of a fine-tuning tailpiece to replace a stopbar tailpiece that has metric/import measurements? The only parts that come to mind for me are the Gibson TP-6 and the Schaller tailpiece, which as far as I know use the Gibson measurements.

It's for my Schecter Tempest.

I did a bit of Googling and it seems that the Gibson TP-6 will drop on with little issue as long as you use the studs your guitar came with rather than those supplied with the TP-6.

The metric stop tails usually won't fit on the Gibsons and vice-versa...it's the difference in measurement between the two posts.

I will add that many people think that the TP-6 is a huge tone-sucker, and not as helpful in fine-tuning as one would believe. Another option might be a lightweight aluminum bar. It gives a more "vintage" tone...it was used on the Gibson solid-bodies of the '50s, and the Historics have them. They are available in the metric size from Gotoh, and reasonably priced at Stew-Mac. Something to consider.

I know that the bridge posts are very different in spacing and size but apparently the stoptail posts are close enough to make the TP-6 work. Or at least a bunch of guys at the Gibson forum have done so.

Find one from an epiphone lucille.

Frankly, I think they are marginal at best. There is a reason they never caught on.

Thanks! I've never tried any fixed bridge with fine tuners in person, I just thought it would be cool to try. I don't want to run the risk of getting a TP-6 and not liking it, since they aren't cheap, especially if they're actually mediocre hardware. I'll keep an eye out for a used lucille one!
