MI Audio Tube Zone clip

StrangeSound

GlossesForNothin'
Hey there,

I did a test run with my new OD pedal. It's the first single overdrive pedal for me and it does NOT change the tone of the guitar, which seems cool but I have to get used to it.

The mic was placed almost at the speaker's centre which explains the more "upper mids" sound...I shouldn't have placed the mic too near of the centre.

Anyway, here is the clip..please excuse my sloppy playing!

Test run

I'm still learning how to use it :fingersx:

Re: MI Audio Tube Zone clip

It sounds ok on this one....I will look forward to more:)
Thanks for checking!

I hope I'll get some serious tone soon..otherwise I'd sell it and buy new tubes for the Screamer and will still have money left for good cables.

I bought this thing blindly...and some people on the Brett Garsed forum want to buy one..we'll see :)

Re: MI Audio Tube Zone clip

The controls are very interactive on that pedal once you get the feel of how they interact its easier to dial in, I also thought the pedal sounded better with the Internal presence turned almost completely off!

I ended up selling mine because the Barber Direct Drive suits my needs better but the TZ is a very good pedal!

Thanks for checking! I recorded a new tune but with less reverb from the G-major (it was too much and the TZ produced too much "oomph") and I increased the internal presence a bit.

Is it normal that you have to crank the gain to, at least, 75% to get a nice tone with sustain? Less seems useless for solo..then it's better for rhythm stuff.

And i don't think your playing sux on this one.I mean ,it never sucked!!!
Thanks Mr. BBQ ;)

I recorded a new one..TZ activated @ the end of the track

CLICK

In the end it almost doesn't matter what I use..it always sounds like me :)

Re: MI Audio Tube Zone clip

I think your playing is great. Your technique and note selection are pretty much bang on! Very lyrical, but not boring . . . I really want to be able to play like this. . . and your tone is good too!

Re: MI Audio Tube Zone clip

Those pedals caught my eye too. They sure look cool. The tone sounds good, but it's so hard to judge OD's from clips. I always like pedals that get their best sound when the controls are somewhere near the middle, so I'm curious about that presence control.

Re: MI Audio Tube Zone clip

Your note selection reminds me of Satriani off his first album, Not of This Earth. Sounds great, bro!

Thanks guys! :)

Yeah it's very difficult to judge a pedal this way. I played the TZ and well..it sounded like me nevertheless :D

I really thought there will come a new, fresh sound out of it but the player makes the sound...now I know for sure!
