so I've been thinking i wanna invest in a micro head. something for quiet jamming and recording. I've narrowed it down to the bugera g5 infinium, the Peavy 6505+ mini and the line 6 dt25. the line 6 is a bit more expensive but the quality is there. does anyone have any experience with any of these amps?

Re: micro heads???

I love them! Lot's to choose from too.

Go hit up Guitar Center and try a few out. I'm sure you can find one that will work for you.

Re: micro heads???

I bet a Microdark would sound fantastic through a good closed back 1x12 or 2x12 cab.

Peavey 6505 mini hands down. Killer little amp.

Re: micro heads???

I just bought a brand new Krank 20 watt mini head. It's also amazing. You should check them out too.

I have an original Krank Rev Jr. from back in the day, and boy, I ADORE that amp. It sounds grindy, pissed-off, and just all-around badass...

... but the one thing mine doesn't do is sound all that great at low volumes. It just sounds like a beehive if you don't turn it up a bit. JMO.

Overall, I'm going to say that's the case for most 15-25W amps. Again, JMO. Hell, even my 5W Randall Diavlo likes to be turned up to around loud TV volumes to sound its best.
