Micro Terror Question

I am pretty sure I know the answer but want to make sure I am not missing anything. If I am using the headphone out on the Micro Terror there is no need to have a speaker plugged in, correct? My reason for asking is I am thinking of using it as a pre-amp/overdrive for the Fender. Headphone out of the MT to the input of the Quad Reverb. Outside of not hitting the input of the Fender overly agressivlly does anyone forsee any problems for either amp?

What you're talking about doing is physically safe and shouldn't hurt either amp. The only problem i foresee is that it sounds like absolute dog balls when it's hooked up that way. Micro Dark's FX out to a Fender sounds awful, too. These Micro heads are designed to be hooked up to an Orange 4x12 and rocked out. You want a good Marshallinabox pedal like a Box of Rock or a Dirty Little Secret or the Orange Bax Bangeetar.

Gotcha. I have plenty of "amp-in-a-box" options to play around with this is not what I am looking for. I dig the loose grittiness of the MT's gain. I have been looking for a cerian fuzz tone for a while. Most of you might even call the tone "dog balls", I am into a lot of lo-fi, retro guitar tones these days. So if it is going to sound like "dog balls" in this case I think we might be headed in the right direction.

Thin, weak, buzzy dirt was all i got when i experimented with the Micro plugged into the pre of other amps. It didn't sound like the Micro Terror i know and love so much.

Go ahead and try it but it's not going to make the Fender sound like am Orange.
