Hey guys, I've got this problem that is making me have a really bad time.
I've got a Fender Stratocaster Standard MIM. The stock pickups were microphonic to the point I couldn't play anywhere near the amp.
So I ordered a set of California 50s and replaced them, and what do you know? Still microphonic.
So I researched and saw that this might be solved by potting them.
I followed the steps as detailed, but still get the microphonic feedback when I'm near the amp.
It's not the amp, I have an ibanez gr20 which gives me beautiful harmonic feedback with the same amp.
So I don't know if it's the actual guitar that has the problem or I did something wrong in the process of potting them. (I noticed that the coil wire didn't show any wax on it after the pickups dried, the plastic covers did have wax which I wiped with a cloth)
Any thoughts?
